Error: "Unsupported eSIM"

Getting this error when trying to activate your eSIM? Don't worry - we'll help you resolve it quickly.

Common Error Message

Unsupported eSIM

"This eSIM is from a carrier that is not currently supported on this iPhone."

What Does This Error Mean?

This error message appears when your device is carrier locked and is not allowed to install eSIM plans from other carriers. Even though your device supports eSIM technology, the carrier lock prevents you from using eSIMs from third-party providers like Sim2Go.

The good news is that this issue can usually be resolved by unlocking your device through your current carrier.

1

Open Settings

4

Check Carrier Lock Status

Look for the 'Carrier Lock' field
