Don't worry! Most eSIM connection problems can be resolved quickly with the right troubleshooting steps. This guide will help you identify and fix the most common issues.

Common eSIM Issues

No Internet Connection

eSIM is installed but no data connection

Symptoms:

  • No internet access
  • Apps won't load
  • Browser shows offline
  • Only 'E' (Edge) appears instead of 4G LTE/5G
  • Extremely slow download/upload speeds

Quick Fix:

Check if Data Roaming is enabled for your eSIM plan and ensure it's selected as your data source

eSIM Won't Activate

Getting activation errors during setup

Symptoms:

  • Unable to activate eSIM
  • QR code scanning fails
  • Manual code errors

Quick Fix:

Restart your device and try again with stable Wi-Fi

No Signal or Coverage

Device shows no signal bars

Symptoms:

  • No signal indicator
  • Network not found
  • Emergency calls only

Quick Fix:

Toggle Airplane Mode on/off to refresh network connection

Check eSIM Installation and Data Settings

  1. 1Go to Settings > Cellular
  2. 2Look for your eSIM plan (may be called 'Secondary', 'Personal', or 'Travel')
  3. 3Tap on it and ensure 'Turn On This Line' is enabled
  4. 4Check that 'Data Roaming' is turned ON
  5. 5Go back to main Cellular menu and tap 'Cellular Data' at the top
  6. 6Select your eSIM plan as the data source

Reset Network Settings

  1. 1Go to Settings > General > Reset
  2. 2Tap 'Reset Network Settings'
  3. 3Enter your passcode when prompted
  4. 4Confirm the reset and wait for restart

Manual Network Selection

  1. 1Go to Settings > Cellular > Your eSIM plan
  2. 2Tap 'Network Selection'
  3. 3Turn OFF 'Automatic' and wait for networks to appear
  4. 4Select an available network manually
  5. 5Wait for connection, then turn 'Automatic' back ON

Android Troubleshooting

Check eSIM Status and Data Settings

  1. 1Go to Settings > Connections > eSIM Card Manager (Samsung)
  2. 2Or Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs (Google Pixel)
  3. 3Find your eSIM plan and ensure it's enabled
  4. 4Set it as the active plan for Mobile Data
  5. 5Check that Data Roaming is turned ON

Configure APN Settings

  1. 1Go to Settings > Mobile & Network > Access Point Names
  2. 2Select your eSIM plan
  3. 3Tap Menu, then 'New APN'
  4. 4Enter 'globaldata' in the APN field
  5. 5Leave username and password empty
  6. 6Save and select the new APN

Access APN Settings

Go to your device's mobile network settings and find APN or Access Point Names

iPhone: Settings > Cellular > Your eSIM > Cellular Data Options > Cellular Data Network

Android: Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network > Access Point Names

Select your eSIM plan first if you have multiple SIMs

Create New APN

Add a new APN profile with the correct settings

Tap the '+' or 'Add' button

Only the APN name is required for most cases

Configure APN

Enter the APN name provided by your eSIM provider

APN Name: globaldata (for most providers)

Leave username and password fields empty

Save and Select

Save the APN and select it as your default

Save the new APN configuration

Select it as your active APN

Network Connection Reset

Force Network Reconnection

This process forces your device to disconnect and reconnect to the cellular network, which can resolve many connection issues.
